Dr. No Bullshit on Wussies
Dr. No Bullshit: Hey K, your guy is in there is crying like a little girl. Sure, he's got some legitimate pain, but, hey, I don't care what's wrong with you. When I go down, I'm going down like a man. Give me a shot of whiskey, kiss me goodbye, and hand me a gun if you have to. None of this crying like a girl bullshit. That's just pathetic.

ReplyDeleteAmazing, isn't it? The docs debrided and grafted a 75 year-old little ol' lady with second and third degree burns to her chest area under JUST a local on our unit today. (She's a DNR/DNI.) And you didn't hear a damn peep out of her about the pain that you knew she had to be in because her VS were through the roof and that shit hurts in general, anyway. I finally got her to admit that, yes, she was in pain but "sometimes you just have to bear the pain."
